If you want to give an impressive gift   but dont have alot of money this year ( and with the economy the way it is  who does?)  make your own gift baskets  heres a few example :

MOVIE NIGHT - - family gift
 a basket  ( i buy mine at local dollar store )
 2 lt of persons favorite soda
a box of micro popcorn
and a dvd (u can find some good ones  in the 5$ bin at walmart)
 * you could even  make this a couple gift by including a "coupon" for a free nights baby sitting )


OUT ON YOUR OWN DINER - collage student or someone with first apartment
 a kettle big enough to cook pasta in
jar spaghetti sauce
box of speghetti 
loaf of  italian bread
bottle of wine
 pair of candles

SNOW DAYS-- family

a basket
gloves in correct sizes
hats
hot cocco  mix
mini marshmellos
home made  cookies
a movie   or game that all could enjoy


You can add  more to these  or substitute  items  to fit the person recieving the gift
